Stolen: Part of a Life

One full tank of gas to drive home for the holidays: $50.00
Snacks for the drive home: $7.00
Opening my car door after a Thanksgiving Eve church service to see my entire front seat cleared of half my earthly belongings: Priceless.
Laptop. Ipod. Clothes. Sports gear. Three thousand dollars later, I'm standing there staring at my empty truck seat, wondering if it was a joke.
One police report later, I was fairly sure it wasn't.
I lay in my bed last night, trying to picture the scenario. Two guys- wanting a night of fun? Or a kid desperate for money to buy food? I guess I'll never know. Maybe they'll find my Bible mixed in with all that stuff and open it for a bit.
Maybe my journal will fall out, somebody will read it and realize the items belonged to a real person. Maybe they'll return my stuff after a miraculous change of heart.
I can only hope whoever took it really did need it more than I did.

P.S. If a brown teddy bear is spotted walking around looking rather lost, she's probably looking for me.
